Lone Star Mensa is a local chapter (bylaws) of American Mensa, a not-for-profit society whose sole qualification for membership is a score in the top 2% on any of a number of standard IQ tests.
Lone Star Mensa Purpose Statement for April 2015 – March 2016
The purpose of Lone Star Mensa is to facilitate and encourage social and intellectual interaction and personal and group development amongst diverse people.

Lone Star Mensa covers a wide geographical area including: Austin, Bastrop, Belton, Brenham, Bryan, Cedar Park, College Station, Gatesville, Georgetown, Hillsboro, Killeen, La Grange, Lampasas, Round Rock, San Marcos, Temple, Waco, and everything between.
Mensa membership includes a subscription to the national Mensa Bulletin, many special membership benefits and privileges, the opportunity to join diverse Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and attend Regional Gatherings (RGs) and Annual Gatherings (AGs) - Big, nerdy parties held nation-wide.
Lone Star Mensans also receive a subscription to the monthly local newsletter which includes articles, puzzles, humor, and a listing of chapter events.
