LonestaRG turns 21 this year, so – finally – the RG can be a smash... or get smashed. There’s so much to talk about in the areas of drinking, prohibition, age restrictions, what’s legal and what isn’t, why things are and are not socially acceptable. Join us and explore; interesting topics and speakers abound, and you’ll never have to drink alone (unless, of course, you want to).
New at LonestaRG this year is a Saturday-only Youth program. This program is $15 for youth if you register by August 15, $20 after or at the door. At least one parent must accompany youth participating in this program; parent registration is $25 until August 15, $30 after. In addition to youth programs and materials, registration also includes lunch, snacks, drinks, etc. The youth program runs from 10am to 4pm Saturday August 31.
We'll have hospitality -- snacks, meals (dinner Friday, lunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday), and beverages (soft drinks, tea, beer, wine, and margaritas). We'll have a game room with lots of favorites including Mind Games winners. And most of all we'll have lots of interesting Mensans with whom to enjoy your holiday weekend.
Registration for the weekend is $115 at the door. Ages 9-20 are half price, 8 and under are free. This year we have a special newbie rate of $100 ($50 ages 9-20) for those who have never attended LonestaRG before. Food and beverage is included in your registration, including five meals plus snacks and beverages (soda, tea, and alcohol -- beer, wine, and margaritas are planned). Day rates are $25 Friday, $60 Saturday or Sunday, $20 Monday.
LonestaRG this year will be hosting a Viva Las Vegas Casino for our Saturday night main event. Come enjoy a Texas barbeque dinner, drinks and dessert followed by casino table games of Blackjack, Texas Hold'em, roulette and craps. We will have other games and puzzles available as well, along with a dance floor, photo backdrops and cheesy decor! LonestaRG is offering special Casino Night only tickets for $35 per person, half-price for children 9-20, and kids 8 and under are free. Admission is from 6pm until midnight, Saturday, August 31st. Feel free to wear your best vintage Vegas casino outfit or just come as you are.
LonestaRG XXI will be held at the Wingate Round Rock and Williamson Conference Center, 1209 I-35 (just north of the I-35/US79 intersection in Round Rock). Our room rate is $92 (S/D/T/Q); you can make reservations by calling 512-341-7000 and asking for the Lonestar Mensa rate.

What is a Mensa "RG"?
"RG" is simply "Regional Gathering" A Regional Gathering, or RG, is actually the annual or biannual gathering of a single host group or team of groups. These events usually take place over a weekend and can attract Mensans from all over the country.
While some long-established RGs draw hundreds of attendees, most are much smaller. However, each RG usually features speakers; games; a Hospitality room with food, beverages and lots of socializing; and often a little something special, a signature program or activity that the host group injects into the event to make it their own. Approximately 40 RGs are held every year, and all are fully planned and staffed by local volunteers.
